What you'll need:

  • 7mm Wrench
  • 8mm Wrench
  • Phillips #2 Screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • 17mm Socket
  • Socket Wrench (and optional extention)

I don't have the back seats installed on mine so we will assume you have yours off as well.

1) Detach the wires and run the car until the engine dies or doesn't start to relieve the fuel pressure.

2) Take out the five (5) phillips head screws

3) Feed the wire grommit through the plate and set the plate aside

4) Remove the 17mm high pressure line bolt and be careful you don't loose the washers (2).  Remove the fuel return line with the pliers by squeezing the clamp and moving it aside (if the line doesn't want to move, try grippign it with the pliers and rotating the hose back and forth to kind of break the seal of the hose).

5) Remove the eight (8) phillips head screws (or use a socket) holding the fuel pump assembly down.

6) Carefully lift it out of the tank (you will have to manuver it out)

1) Using the 7mm and 8mm wrenches, unbolt the negative and positive wires.  Usin the pliers, move the clamp that is closest to the fuel pump away.

2) Now the hard part is actually removing and installing the new pump.  I used a screwdriver to manuver it in/out of the fuel pump holder assembly but I will leave this up to you to figure that out.

Installation is the reverse of Removal.

1) Manuver the Fuel Pump Assembly back into the Fuel Tank and bolt it back down with the eight (8) phillips head screw.  Install the 17mm high pressure line and the fuel return line.

2) Reinstall the wire grommit and put the cover back on and install the five (5) phillips head screws. Attach the wires.
