Chevrolet Tahoes built since 2006 are installed with 21.6-inch wiper blades. Over time, these blades may wear down and require replacement, particularly if they are used frequently or weather severe winters. General Motors recommends installing factory replacement wiper blades on your Chevy Tahoe; however, aftermarket blades may be available from many automotive parts stores and should work fine. Make sure you get the right size. Replace your wiper blades as often as needed; it only takes a few minutes, and it's difficult and dangerous to drive in bad weather without them.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Replacement wiper blades
  1. 1

Turn your engine off; make sure your windshield wiper switch is off.

  2. 2

Approach the Tahoe from the driver side. Lift the windshield wiper arms up; pull them up and toward you to move them into the service position.

  3. 3

Bend the top part of the blade back against the arm to put it in a horizontal position. Inspect the wiper blade for a perforated groove. Squeeze the grooved area and push the wiper blade forward and up to remove it.

  4. 4

Squeeze the grooved area on the replacement wiper blade. Insert it into the Tahoe's wiper blade arm; pull it back to snap it against the wiper-arm clip. Release the grooved area.

  5. 5

Repeat the procedure for the passenger side wiper blade if necessary. Because of the angle, it may be easier to replace while standing on the passenger side. If you're standing on the passenger side, push the blade forward to remove it (instead of pulling it toward you).
