You should monitor the condition of the wiper blades on the 2006 Mitsubishi Galant regularly. If you discover any signs of damage, change them soon to prevent damage to the windshield. Buy new wiper blades from an auto parts retailer and change them at home. The 2006 Galant uses a 21-inch blade on the driver's side and a 19-inch blade on the passenger side.

  • Flathead screwdriver

    Turn off the wipers so they return to the resting position. Raise the wiper arm away from the glass.

    Locate the clip securing the wiper assembly to the wiper arm. Press down on the clip with a flathead screwdriver while pulling the assembly off the wiper arm hook.

    Match the new wiper blade to the one you removed to be sure you install the correct size blade. Slide the new wiper blade assembly on the wiper arm hook. Pull back on the assembly to lock the clip in place. Lower the arm to the windshield.

    Repeat the process on the opposite wiper blade.
